Matcha Talk with Bart Mauceri Jr. | Episode 14

Mary White June 22, 2017

Bart Mauceri Jr. Bio

My photographic studies began at the New York Institute of Photography in New York City from 1995 until 1999, where I became a certified photojournalist. From 1996 until 2005, I worked for local newspapers in and around Ridgefield, Connecticut and Lewisboro, New York- photographing community events and human interest stories.

Today, I'm a professional freelance photographer, specializing in lighthouses, coastal subjects landscapes, still life subjects, heavenscapes, and architecture. With every photo I take, there is a personal story and people love a good story.

In 2015, after being a traditional film photographer for over 15 years, I have converted to 100% digital myself.

I could not have been any happier and content. This is a new chapter in my career, and I am very excited for this new journey.

Matcha Talk with James Rey Sanchez | Episode 13

Mary White June 19, 2017

James Rey Sanchez Bio

I came from a humble home in Santa Maria, California. My love for art came from countless hours of reading comics and children's books and Saturday morning cartoons.

I am a recent graduate of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. I received my BFA in Visual Development, focusing on character and prop design but decided to jump into the Children's Book world my last semester of college.

I'm an agented Children's Book Illustrator by Lupine Grove Creative, I have done freelance work for some animation studios around the Bay area and am finishing my first children's book, Irving Berlin, getting ready to jump on my second one.

I believe in focusing on the beauty of simplistic design that evokes emotion and begs for life by using uniquely stylized and energetic art.

Matcha Talk with Eduardo Juarez Jr. | Episode 11

Mary White June 12, 2017

Eduardo Juarez Jr. Bio

My name is Jose E. Juarez, but artistically I go by Eduardo Juarez jr.

I was born in Mexico City in 1983. I came to California in 1993 and have been here ever since.

I have always loved to draw since a very young age. I was inspired to pursue an animation career from watching The Simpsons in the mid 1990s.

I attended a high school that had an animation magnet program. After graduation I attended San Jose State University which offered an animation degree. I graduated from SJSU in late 2012 with a B.F.A in animation/illustration. I have also since early 2000 been self-publishing my own comic book titled "Lalo's World".

Between 2012 and 2015 I helped a small studio called Guerrilla Wanderers produce 2D animation sequences for 2 trailers promoting a local film festival and one music video. In 2015 I produced a short animation for a morning radio show from San Francisco, Kevin Klein Live, based on a real phone call to their show.

Jason Charnick Bio

A native of the Bronx, New York, Jason moved out to Los Angeles in 1999 and cut his teeth in the post department on the early James Franco film, At Any Cost. While there, he partnered up with writer/director Peter Sullivan (Jersey Shore Shark Attack, High School Possession) to produce the wildly successful short film, Stephen King’s Night Surf, one in a long line of King’s Dollar Baby film projects.

Following a brief departure to Silicon Valley to work for Apple Computer’s renowned Pro Apps Division, Jason returned to L.A. to work for Technicolor, one of the entertainment industry’s largest purveyors of post-production services. In 2004, with his independent spirit getting the better of him, Jason struck out on his own, editing various projects for many of Hollywood’s elite, as well as creating workflows for the popular show, Robot Chicken.

He returned to feature films in 2006, working on such blockbusters as The A-Team, Cabin In The Woods, and Ted, as well as highly-rated TV shows Dollhouse & The Voice. Never to stray far from his roots, he spent time during these projects to write and direct his own independent shorts 5:19 To Molina and Close, But No Cigar.  After working on so many projects for others, he is finally ready to face his family’s past and his own future by presenting to you… Getting Over.

Getting Over is a Documentary about a man discovers a box of interviews with his father, a life-long heroin addict who died of AIDS in 1997. What he finds will uncover generations of family secrets, forcing him to redefine his own past, doubt his present, and question his future.
